Jay Transport, Inc was started in 1983 by Dean and Tracey Jay. Dean grew up around trucking with his father, Nelson Jay, his grand-father, Nelson Senior, and his great grandfather, all of whom owned their own trucking companies. That is 5 generations of Jays in the trucking industry! To say it was in Jordon’s blood to be in the trucking industry would have been an understatement. At a young age, Jordon developed a passion for the company and worked most weekends at Jay Transport. Alongside his father, Jordon would grease trucks, wash, change tires, and drive trucks around the yard at the young age of 7. Jordon would venture into the office to answer phone calls, book loads, and file paperwork. Over the years, his passion grew into knowledge and understanding that he wanted to continue his family legacy in the industry. 

Jordon met Terra in 2009 and they were married a short time later. In the fall of 2011, they welcomed their first child Austin. With God as their foundation, Jordon and Terra decided to purchase the family trucking company. Dean and Tracey gracefully stepped into retirement in 2011 by purchasing a home in Arizona where they would enjoy some much-needed sun and downtime. Jordon and Terra began to grow the business and refine business practices and policies. With this new entrepreneurship, they both found an enthusiasm for business administration and processes. They invested in technology to assist the business and in no time at all they were able to build a new shop and office located in Rigby, Idaho. In 2016 Jordon and Terra welcomed their second child, Ava. Austin and Ava are often at Jay Transport helping in the office, or out in the shop washing trucks, and driving the equipment around the yard just as their father did all those years ago.
