IFTA Permitting

The international fuel tax agreement (IFTA) is an agreement between the lower 48 states, 10 Canadian providences and 3 territories to simplify the reporting of fuel used by motor carriers that operate in more than one jurisdiction. We can obtain new IFTA permits and well as process IFTA renewals. Carrier will receive IFTA permit and decals for each qualifying vehicle.

Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) and Refunds

Heavy Vehicle use tax- Form 2290- Filed yearly by August 31st for the tax period that begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th of the subsequent year for vehicles with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 or over. We will provide you with the necessary documents to comply with these IRS requirements.

Unified Carrier Registrations (UCR)

Unified Carrier Registration- We can submit your annual UCR filing within a (48) hour period to be compliant with the states that require it. The UCR agreement applies to motor carriers that are for hire in interstate commerce. The UCR is not required to travel within the following states; Arizona, Alabama, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, and Wyoming. All other states require the UCR.

New Mexico Weight Distance Tax and Permit

New Mexico imposes a weight-distance tax on owners, operators, and registrants of intra and interstate commercial motor vehicles with a declared gross vehicle weight in excess of 26,000 pounds. This tax is based on vehicle weight and miles traveled on New Mexico highways and roads, and companies must register and apply each year for a New Mexico Weight Distance Tax Electronic Permit for each vehicle operated; these companies must file a New Mexico Weight Distance Tax return on a quarterly basis, and pay the tax due to the MVD. We will file your quarterly return on a timely basis to maintain your company within compliance, as prescribed by the State of New Mexico as well as obtain your annual Weight Distance Tax permit.

New York Highway Use Tax (HUT) Permit

We set up your New York HUT Permit for an initial temporary registration within 24 – 48 hours of your insurance being filed with the FMCSA. Once confirmed, your registration will become permanent. Once we set up your New York HUT account, you must comply with the quarterly reports that are to be submitted to the state, a service that we are able to perform on behalf of our clients. The New York HUT Permit is mandatory for carriers operating on public roads in the state of New York with a Gross Vehicle Weight of more than 18,000 pounds.

Kentucky Highway Use Tax (KYU) License

We will provide clients with professional services to file their KYU License quarterly taxes. KYU (Kentucky Highway Use Tax) is a weight-distance tax based on the mileage traveled by a motor vehicle to or through the State of Kentucky. This permit is required if your commercial vehicle travels through the State of Kentucky and its gross weight is 60,000 pounds or above. As soon as your KYU license is issued, the corresponding company must file quarterly reports.

There are certain States, within the lower 48, which require permits to allow Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) to travel within their boundaries We can obtain new annual permits, trip permits, and special permits for your company. Our office will also keep track of your permit expiration dates and renew them for you as needed.

We offer new start up packages for individuals wanting to become an owner/operator. We can assist you with the creation of your new business through the IRS, obtaining an EIN number, and secretary of state filings as well as obtaining a DOT number and MC number from the FMCSA.
